Liam, 2 Years, Langerhan’s Cell Histiocytosis
Meet Liam—a 2-year-boy who is the cutest little guy ever. I delivered him a Lego set of his choice, a Stitch set, which is his favorite character

Here is Liam's story, shared by his Dad
******************************
This is Liam. On the day of his 1st birthday he was admitted to CCMC to begin the process of diagnosing a rare form of cancer called Langerhan’s Cell Histiocytosis (LCH). This rare disease is an autoimmune disease, that creates cancerous tumors that destroy tissue in the body. The amazing doctors at CCMC found four tumors in his skull and femurs. While he spent a week in the hospital he enjoyed his walks and strolls around the 7th floor decorated with wall clings of Stitch, whom he fell in love with. His birthday also happened to fall on Ohana Day at CCMC, inspired by the movie Lilo & Stitch. ‘Ohana’ means ‘Family’ in Hawaiian, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten. Liam completed a year of chemotherapy and a regimen of steroids. He was a champion through the entire treatment process, just like the immortal Stitch character.
Today he is 2 years old and in remission, and doing everything a vibrant and spunky little boy should be doing (and some things they probably shouldn’t). He earns his nickname, Stitch. If you’ve ever seen the movie, you will understand what that means. He was overjoyed to receive a Stitch Lego set, as he is taking after his older brother who loves building Legos, and he’s starting to build them himself.
He will continue to go for scans and tests and celebrate every day he remains cancer-free, and his Ohana will be there with him in his fight!
