Hello, my name is Shaurya Ranjan, and this fall I'll be starting my journey at Brown University.

At just 14 years old, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Nodular Lymphocyte Predominant Hodgkin Lymphoma (NLPHL), a rare type of blood cancer. Going through chemotherapy was one of the most challenging experiences of my life. It affected me physically, emotionally, and socially, and there were many days when I simply needed something to help me get through.

During treatment, my parents gave me LEGO sets to keep my mind off the pain and nausea. What started as a simple distraction quickly became something much more. Building LEGO gave me a sense of purpose, creativity, and hope during one of the darkest times in my life.

That experience inspired me to create Blocks of Hope.

Blocks of Hope is my way of giving back to children who are facing the same challenges I once did. Through donated LEGO sets, we hope to bring joy, comfort, creativity, and a sense of normalcy to kids undergoing cancer treatment.

My journey taught me that even the smallest act of kindness can make a lasting difference. Today, as I prepare to begin this next chapter at Brown University, I remain committed to growing Blocks of Hope and spreading hope—one LEGO set, one smile, and one child at a time.
