Hello, my name is Shaurya Ranjan, and I’m a senior at South Windsor High School.
At just 14 years old, I completed treatment for Stage 3 Lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. It was an incredibly difficult journey that impacted me emotionally, physically, and socially. Throughout the chemotherapy sessions and hospital stays, one thing that brought me comfort was something simple, Lego sets.
My parents gifted me these sets to keep my mind off the pain and nausea, and they became more than just toys. They helped me stay creative, engaged, and hopeful during the darkest times.
That experience inspired me to create Blocks of Hope.
This nonprofit is my way of giving back to children facing similar challenges, and to the community I belong to. I want to bring the same joy, comfort, and creativity to others that helped me through my own journey, one block at a time.
